My family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Stables, a charming cottage-style accommodation nestled in a serene farm setting. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted warmly by Phil and Fran, the friendly hosts who made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The cottage itself was basic but cozy, with a comfortable bedroom, a nice bathroom, a lounge area, and a small yet functional kitchen. It reminded me of the comfortable youth hostel accommodations I used to stay in during my travels. One of the highlights of our stay was the thoughtful touch of scones, butter, and clotted cream waiting for us upon arrival - a true taste of hospitality. One of the most delightful aspects of our stay was the opportunity to interact with the family on the farm. We had the chance to meet their horses and it was clear to see how well cared for they were. My children were thrilled to be able to pet and feed the horses, making our stay even more memorable. the location of the Stables was perfect for exploring both the Forest of Dean and the Wye Valley. We were able to easily access various family-friendly activities in the area, making our stay filled with adventure and fun. From the warm hospitality of the hosts to the cozy cottage accommodation and the opportunity to interact with the farm animals, it was a stay that left a lasting impression on our family. We highly recommend the Stables to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat with a touch of farm charm.
